Kunar River by ThomChen114 Kunar River by ThomChen114
Based of a pic :iconfiretruckboy: once sent me some time ago. Well here it is. It's not 100% accurate, but i hope i managed to get the feeling right.

This took me about 4-5 hours (sitting time) give or take

Used F, B, 2B, 4B pencils and a tortillion

UDPATE
So this is the original image i used for this [link]. Again it's not totally accurate.

4-5 hours to draw everything from the original image to one piece of paper? You did a great job!

Even though it's not as accurate as the original image, you did it almost perfectly!
Since it was just las year, I bet you improve your skills now!

thanks, this was done on and off (who has the time to sit around 4-5 hours straight?!) but i liked how it turned out :)

accuracy be damned as long as i get the look and feel right as best as i could

Im not sure if it's a photo or a draw...

Draw = Grade 1++, 110 Points
Photo = Grade ,  Points

Is this only a photoshop effect or handdrawn? I can't know.
And because of that I think this could (not has to be) be not handrawn.

That's pretty accurate, I'd say. Good job! I agree with another comment that the water isn't really recognizable, however it is indeed hard to draw, unless it's moving like in a choppy sea or swift river.

well the water in the picture was calm, so it was tricky not to make it look like a dirt road or something

Yeah, I saw the ref pic-I know I probably couldn't draw calm water well in this instance, unless I used color maybe.

This is some fine traditional artwork, I love it. May i ask if do u use a scanner to upload traditional artworks?

thanks, maybe you could check out my other stuff too

and yeah i almost always use a scanner, since it'll come out better compared to my crap camera skills. the exception is if my work is too big for a typical scanner

currently doing them out of my sketch book (which i will retire soon, since it's almost falling apart) at A4 size. i need to start making bigger pieces if i want to include them in my portfolio for art school. i plan to use my summer time to do just that, aside from studies

it's a good idea to invest in some bristol pads if you're thinking about your portfolio. However, when it comes to efficiency, for some reason sketchbooks seem to be better. Either way, with work like this, I'm sure you'll have no problem.

bristol pads eh? do you use those for your works?
i'll buy some, hopefully some big ones too.

aside from that i just need to find some bigger papers/canvas for painting, charcoal, etc

thanks. i do plan to include a couple of military stuff that i draw, but i'll also need to include some other stuff too, just to show what else i can draw
